take the credit for what? i think they equally have to be credited for the improvement in the sceen and to be honest it aint an MC's job to sound good on tape they need to sound good live. An MC works on the atmosphere of the crowd and you cant feel that when your listening to a tape.
Plus i got tapes with Whizzkid and Storm on that wouldnt be the same without them.

mc's can deff make the night if they're on top form. but i agree, sometimes they need to be quiet and appreciate the music a bit more. if they're a good enough mc they should get the balance right ......... plus hardcore wouldnt be the same without them!
where's all the noise all the girls all the boys!

The more u realise we are the music the better!.
In all seriousness, mcs are to compliment the music I personally feel MC's are now being more involved in the scene which as an mc myself I see a good thing, but what I dont want it to see like the DNB scene has where ya get rudeboys turning up just to see skibba and shabba then pretend they are them as well.
individual you know i come to rock it
ah yes cos i always love the music
so give me the mic and ill do my thing
its the mc Jutt and im gonna get you rocking

There are very few mcs I acctually really like, some I don't mind so much, but many I can't stand.
A good MC will know the time to do his thing, and know when to shut his mouth as well.
The problem I've noticed with a lot of MCs is
1) they overdo it, and just never shut up and cover up the music, taking away from the set (sometimes they just get overly excited and caught up in the ryhmes i guess)
2)some of them just scream into the microphone...I can;t stand it when you have an MC who just basically stands there and screams random things at the audiance.
A GOOD MC will know how to keep balance, know when to sing his rhymes and when to sit back and let the beats speak for themself. He should be adding to the set not taking away from it (myabe thats what Leelo1 meant when he said they take most of the credit?). All part of the MC perfecting his craft...

i personally think that (no disrespect intended) whizzkid and storm get too much play, i know they are the best and appreciate there ability but it allways seems to be the big 2 with oddesy and marly following and at the big events no1 els seems to get noticed. i (personally) think the sceen could do with more mc gettin chances like smiley and wotsee to keep it all fresh. but i know what people mean when they say the cant stand the shoutin cuz it does sound shite. i try to make all my lirics a flow even if they are aimed at getting the crowd moving.
