not really much to download. just shity things.... not worth it. but to buy there is alot more.... the best i got is Traktor DJ. as long as you have plenty of samples it's brilliant.

Traktor isn't production software, its a DJ package.... basically digital turntables.

There are a few shareware sequencers and things out there. The best site for shareware music software is:

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/

It also has links to demos of commercial packages and stuff.

If you want a commercial package then try Steinberg's Cubasis (entry level version of Cubase - great to learn on) or something like Fruity Loops. Try demos of both of them to see what method of working suits you best, as they are both pretty different.

well for samples you can make your own or get ones from people all around.
can't remember where i got it.... oh yes i do.. my m8 down at roadrunner is where i got it.... think it cost sumet like £150.

there are alot more tho..
Steinberg do alot and emagic is quite good too.
The cubasis side of steinberg is extremely good for producing... pricey tho.
the SX v2.0 costs £250.

You could always opt for e-jay too. they dont do hardcore but the trance version has alot of samples which when sped up are close to being hardcore.

Another is sonic foundry acid music.. and the propellerhead range is good too.

I dont produce my self, but...

Well Buzz is free http://www.buzzmachines.com/ , but ppl say it takes time to learn to use it. People often recommend Fruity Loop's for beginners, http://www.fruityloops.com/ (but only the demo is free). Then theres Reason http://www.propellerheads.se/ some say its the best...

Unfortunately Emagic don't produce software for the PC anymore, only for the Mac (They are now owned by Apple). However, if you can get hold f a copy of Logic 5.5 then this is a superb package.

You can get Cubasis VST 5.0 for £44.99 from Amazon.co.uk

Once you have learnt the basics you can upgrade through Cubase SL 2.0 up to SX 2.0 as your needs expand.

I suppose that is the first and most important thing. find one you like and can handle.... after that go for the best version of and get them tunes spinning.
