well i am quite good i can mix im 12 and i dont now if i should carry on with the deks
i even have an under 18s night comin up with pipsy and mouse step dad and mum.
so i dont know wether to carry on all this because after 1 hour i get bored!!!!!!!
so i need to know wot to do plz i need help!!!

one tip, don't give up. I started when i was your age and i dont spin much anymore, by the time you're 15 you'll be playing out with lots of practice. in a a few years you're gonna have massif street cred for doing this. DONT GIVE UP!

wish i'd started when i was 12! im nearly 19 and im gettin my 1st set of decks through some time this week! if i'd been spinnin' for 7 years i'd be a master by now  just keep it up mate, you'll be glad you did!

I started about a year ago, and i used to get bored after an hour.....infact i still do sometimes, especially when im in my room....when you play out though and theres a crowd....be it 50 people or 500 people, they keep you going and you enjoy it a lot more, trust me!
Keep it up, i wish i had the money as a 12 year old to buy decks and a mixer! lol id be the dogs bollox if i had!

unless i'm working on a project i usually can't spin for hours on end. but when you're playing out that hour goes SO fast

lol, being bored is one thing, i usually just get stressed, i wish i could relax in front of a crowd, but adrenaline keeps you going for a very long time though. Just don't do what Grooverider does when he gets the last set of the night (i'll get slapped for mentioning non hardcore djs) stand there obviously not enjoying yourself whilst djing therefore lighting up a big spliff, and then when the crowd wants an encore, he tries his best to go home as quick as possible. Or worse I heard of a sad tale involving Judge Jules getting paid 20k for 2 hours work, and then supposedly not even bothering to even beat match a single track, he just lets the beats crash together! On a positive note, it is important to be able to have fun even when under pressure, and this will be difficult for you to do because you are 12, but watch Eddie Halliwell, or Johan Gielen (you might be able to get a video featuring them) if you can, they are great examples of DJs that enjoy the event as much as the crowd that they play for. 1 hour long encores after the final set and dancing even more than you are, whilst they are at work in the dj booth is what i'm talking about!

awww good for u mate i got nothing but encouragement for u, hve u played live b4 this night uv got planned? if not wait and see how u feel, i imagine u will really enjoy the rush it gives u. if it REALLY bores u well u shud just play for say 20 mins a day, or just play for an hour or two on the weekends, dont get out of it cus im sure ull regret it when yr older

If you're getting bored then try new things. Use your decks as an instrument. I play a couple of instruments and believe me, the decks are the
hardest and the most interesting,
If you're genuinely getting bored then its not the thing for you, dont do it just to be 'cool'. You're just wastin money and time!!

I started djing at 15 had the chance to get decks when i was about 12 or 13 but went for a playstation instead boy was that a mistake
