So Helter Skelter is coming up this weekend, i'm all gearing and ready to go. I bought my ticket early cause I decided long ago that i'll be going come hell or high water, now here's the bummer, i'm completely nigelated. My friends all piked it and it's looking like a solo journey for me.
Thing is this is happening more and more. My friends just aren't in it as much as they used to be (if at all anymore), myself i've still got a few more in me. Granted I don't go every weekend like I used to, but once in awhile i'm still up for a big night and i'm finding less and less people to join me. Bleh! I both loath and love raves! Curse you music for being so good! Curse you dancing for being so fun! Curse you atmosphere for making me want more!
Anyways to the point, i'm sure i'm not the only one who's been or is going through such a decline in raving buddies. Anyone else having the same problems with friends just having enough of everything? What did you do? or what would you do in my place?
PS. Anyone going to Helter Skelter in Syd that wouldn't mind a 20 something tag along? :P

Dude, I know what yer going through!!! When I was living in Japan, I used to go out raving every weekend with my friends. When I came back to the states to start college (age 20) I stopped going to raves mostly because I didn't know anybody in the states who was my age that liked dance music. Just to let you know, electronic music really isn't popular here. Anyway, when I wanted to start raving again, I was 21 and I didn't know anybody who wanted to go to a rave. I'm feeling frustrated, like I'm getting too old for the scene because everytime I go to some sort of dance event, there are all these little teenie boppers bouncing around. Really, the only events I like now are the trance ones where you have to be 21+.
Bring Hardcore to Upstate New York!!!!

ive never been to a rave with the same group of mates, always different cuz people drop out for some reason or another.
So with this in mind i took my bird and now she loves ravin and is sortin everythin out for valentines day.
My advice, get a bird or feller with the same love for the seen, youll never go solo.

i always leave with my friends but look i never stick with them all night infact i usually have to phone the in the morninng to find out where they are. Take it as an oppunity to meet new ppls:) and a chance to brag to ya piker mates about how good it was, on that note NEVER let them live it down!!!!
nye 2002/2003 all my friends piked at the last minute...i went by my self and i caught up with bout 10-20 ppls i hadn't seen in ages had a great night i sat on a bus seat while people walked past and just had a succession of ppls i knew and hadn't seen forages walk past and then sit down...fantastic night :)
Mrc u forgot the other advantage of goin to a rave with a partiner....u usually leave with one, and lets face it that is the most important thing...who know skeenip some guy or girl might just think u are a bit of alright, u can but hope!!!!
On a serious note i have 3 people that i would call friends, these are people that i know will love me and be there for me no matter what until the time we die, true friends wont leave u just cus your tastes in music diverge or because u dont go out everyweekend togeather, they like each other for the people that they.
My humbel views basied on being ****ed over by a lot of people and finidning out the hard way:)

this kills me!! it has TOTALLY happened to me i.e. why i aint been to any event since august and it is proper gutting but what can i do easy enough to say go up alone but at the end of the day I'm a 17 yr old female who wud have to travel about 4/5 hrs to get anywhere and I aint up for doing it alone... I guess im gna wait til i go to uni in september and then i will just f**k em all.... thing is i wud go alone but everyone wud go skitzy with me and only person who i know wud take me is my ex and as he lives in oxford so id still be journeying alone and somehow i doubt my boyfirend wud appreciate that!!
so dont give up, but as for me.... well im letting the side down for a few months but ill be back with avengance! (what does that mean?? avengance? or a vengance????)

KinokoBoy: Yeah I know what you mean, everytime I pop in again the crowd just seems younger and younger. Don't get me wrong though young people have the same freedom to have fun much like i did when i was a teenie bopper :P. But it's hard to relate to them as the gap gets larger and i'm less inclined to start up a cod sh.t conversation :P
