Hi everyone.

Just moving to cdjs and wanted to keep one vinyl deck for scratching but need to shift the second out of the way for space. Cant afford a new mixer and mine is 2 channel.

Is there any way to split one vinyl deck over both the phono channels?

Had a look around on the net but cant find any sort of connector that would do the job.

Any suggestions would be wicked.

Cheers :)

you could try getting some cheap cables off ebay and making a 2 into 1 phono lead? not sure how it would sound but if its just playability you want then i "think" it should work!

underloop is the man to ask though, lets hope he see's this thread!

I had a similar kind of connection problem, where I needed to get two male y-phono connectors from one phono output. I solved it by connecting the out to phono -> 1/8" cable. I used a coupler on the end of that, and plugged a headphone splitter into the end, so now I had two 1/8" female connections. Then, I plugged two 1/8" to y-phono connectors, and plugged those into the aux connections of the speakers.

Diagram:
Computer (phono out) -> 1/8" male -> coupler (1/8" female) -> headphone splitter (2x1/8" female) -> phono (2xphono) -> speaker input.

I'd assume that something similar would work for a record player, I bet they have phono splitters or phono to 1/8" adapters to do the job.

I could be totally misinterpreting your problem, though.

What mixer do you have...?

And CDJs tend to be a higher Wattage rating meaning that if you plug them into a PHONO socket, they'll sound sh*t. Too much amplification basically. But if your mixer and TTs have Line In and Phono then no problems.

Or... if your TT has LineOut and not PhonoOut, you can make a little switch of your own which just swaps the connections over. Shouldn't be massively expensive, just requires a soldering irons really. But I would recommend getting a mixer that either has 4 channels or a 2 channel with the switches at the top to swap inputs.

Try something like this:

http://info.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?C=SO&U=strat18&tabs=n&ModuleNo=29191&ma=phono%20plugs

You'll need 2 - one for L and one for R.
