It's just not being reported because there is nothing to gain from reporting it. It would be like reporting a heroin death, no one would care because it's illegal anyway, no one to blame. Even when it was reported, most of the deaths were not from pure mephedrone.

Governments of developed countries will always ban the free use of harmless drugs that have the potential to be dangerous in excessive amounts. The reason is a simple one but very ridiculous indeed: The goal of modern society is to overcome natural selection
So long as we keep thinking it's out responsibility to protect the people that hold bottle rockets in their hands to see if it hurts, the people who are capable of enjoying moderately harmless drugs like this on occasion will be the ones that are punished.

We knew this from the start. Whichever medium they chose; Alchohol, Heroin, Snorkling with Pirhannas wearing a steak and kidney pudding hat, it was always going to be their own stupidity that killed them in the end.
