I'm sure many of you find this task tedious. I myself have fallen behind a lot lol
I had no problems tagging any songs with my old XP by right-clicking and going under properties and changing the details, but for some reason now that I have a laptop with windows 7, I can't seem to be able to change any details on some of the songs by doing the same thing.
i checked a few forums, and did a few suggestions they offered and it didn't work. Anyone know of a solution to this problem that absolutely works? or any programs out there that do work for tagging mp3s?

I wouldnt use Windows own ability to tag mp3s
I'd rather see you use a proper one. Mp3tag.de is Highly recomended, both for editing single files, but multiple aswell

I thought I was having this issue with only tracks that have never been properly tagged, but it seems somewhat random as only about 10 of my Essential platinum tracks are properly tagged. They've all been tagged already through my old computer :/

ID3Tagit seems to be quite good, though i only use it for stripping the ID3 tag out of multiple mp3s

i havent checked properly, but I think windows 7 only tags using ID3 v2.3 (unicode). I checked a folder I had some mp3s in. Most of the files had ID3 v1 and v2.4, but one had v2.3, and only that one showed info in properties.

Mp3tag.de is definitely the best thing for this job. I second the suggestion.

foobar2000 ****s up my tags!
I wish i could force it to select ID3v2.3 instead of v2.4, which ****s up my japanese tags

ok so i'm finally getting around to actually getting this fixed and i've downloaded and installed both mp3tag.de & id3tagit. i thought it would be this issue i'm having, but seems that all the tracks are v1 & v2.3. both programs show all songs to be these versions.
i've noticed that this is only affecting some of my songs that i purchased from beatport. it's strange because with these two programs i can view the previous tags i put in with my old computer, yet with with the regular windows going thru my files and whatnot it's still empty. has anybody had problems like these with beatport purchases?
I'll email them and see if they know of a solution on how to fix this. I really don't want to go in and manually tag everything again.

i always remove v1 tags, 99% of the applications out today reads v2 (2.3), as it supports longer tags and custom tags :)
