its not as bad as what its all being made out to be... like u just said the girls dead, so what's the huge deal?
also... this was going to happen regardless of the "scandal" Rupert Murdoch is taking full control of BskyB today.... that's Sky the broadcaster to you and me

its appalling.
though this whole closing of the news of the world is the right thing, I think murdoch is just trying to defuse the situation - just so happens his corp are now launching the sun on sunday - and the editor who was in charge when all this went down still has a highly paid job with them.. yet other people in lesser positions who would have been innocent are now out of jobs..
the govenment are doing the right thing by lauching the inquiry..after the expenses scandal it looks like there is still alot of cleaning to be done.
its retarded that politicans have/had to be so careful because of the press - hopefully this will all go someway to putting the press in their place.
hugh grant is superb, well done him!

yeah but her family were leaving voicemail until it was ful then when they were able to leave voicemail after a while when she was already dead because of the paper deleting the voicemail to leave space for new ones giving the family false hope that she may still be alive and thats just sick whoever deleted the messages must have a heart made of stone

wilky clearly doesnt know the full extent, its not just one girl, its a hell of alot of people!
and not just the phone hacking, the police payouts and political alignments.
its going to be much much harder for murdoch to buy out the rest of BSkyB - so i wouldnt hold my breath on that.

nope, he doesnt need govenment approval, but what he will need is the endorsement of OFCOM and other regulatory bodies - because of the govenment launching the inquiry and the media storm the BBC are whipping up (they sure as hell dont want BskyB to get bigger, for obvious reasons!) when ofcom and other bodies come to look at wether mr murdoch is suitable for owning it they can put the smackdown!

All might be forgotten by the public, but not the people involved. If things don't matter because people will one day not really care about them, then nothing ****ing matters.

Its not about how bad it is, or what was found out or whatever, but rather the ethical side of it. Its illegal, its unethical, and breaches peoples rights.
Look at it from an empathic point of view. What if it was you? would it be such a small deal then?

'The Sunday Sun' has already been registered by the same company as a new newspaper name.

I have no idea what anyone is talking about but all newspapers are as bad as each other, get rid of them all.

I usually read Guardian on my mobile before i go to sleep (i don't have a TV). So have read loads of articles about this, the shocking thing was how corrupt the news, the politicians and the police had to be before people realized something ain't right and they got caught.
