i reckon most of the comments diss'n hixxy are just trying to bring him down, everyone seems to not like the person at the top.. i mean there are some people out there that just cant accept other people being the best at something.. the person at the top of anything is always going to cop shite thats just what happends. hixxy is a god.. i love his tracks and love what he has done for the music... and the scene if only more people would be like him the scene would be twice as big as it is now.

How could you not like Hixxy? He's a huge presence in the hardcore scene, and he deserves loads of respect. He's kept on going when it seemed like everyone was leaving hardcore. He's got so many top tunes, why shouldn't he get respect?

^^ respecting Hixxy's contribution to the scene and liking his music are two different things. Doing the first (as I think most people here would) doesn't necessitate doing the second.

maybe so,
but nobody can genuinely say they like every single one of whichever producer.

conversely, i cant see anybody not liking at least one of hixxy's (many) tunes.

hixxy is god
: )

btw, i arent singleing just hixxy out for being great, all our producers are, just werent impressed with all the bad mouthin i saw at his expense.

Hixxy is one of the best! I have always admired him, he never gave up on hardocre.

Also i see alot of people saying "his stuff is too trancey".

That is RUBBISH!!!
What the hell is all this nonsense about hh being sped up trance, shouldn't it be trance is sped down hardcore?
Through all the years of listening to hardcore, it has always had something better than any other dance genre, it's quality tunes, happy vocals, dark break beats etc i could go on.
HH has always been better, whereas in trance you could get away with the same tune with a nonstop 4x4 beat for 8mins you couldn't in hh. There is always something that much better about hh, maybe emotion is better conveyed in it, be it happy, sad, evil, dark etc.
I begin to wonder whether all these ppl who say it's too trancey are hh newbies that have jumped on the bandwagon since hh has started to comeback, sorry if i have offended anyone but all the ppl i know who have been listening, myself included since the 89/90's period all still love hh and the way it's evolving.
I also wonder whether these ppl who talk about trancey hardcore being rubbish are in fact true ravers. I would consider a true raver to like and appreciate all styles of hh.

Keep on ravin!

You got whacked cuz your weak!

True, but there are many people who don't like most of the tunes that Hixxy's made under RB ... it's not just a matter of tunes, it's also the direction he's headed with his music.

Be that as it may, though, it still doesn't justify slating him personally IMO. I mean, don't buy his records, don't buy his CD's (although that's kinda hard to do if we're talking Bonkers :P) and bleat as loudly as you want on the forums about how much you hate his music, but there's a pretty definite line between that and attacking him as a person, and disrespecting his past and present contributions to the scene.

i think its all about the minority here to be honest.

i personally like his raverbaby tunes, and have always liked his tunes on all the labels,
even if i didnt, you still gotta respect him for all he's done for the scene, and he has done an enormous amount.
the whole 'sped up trance' thing is a load of bollox, and not all his tunes do have a sort of trancey feel anyway.

the mans a legend, and i dont think its right at all for anyone to be slaggin him off.

maybe after theyve done all he's done for the scene, then just maybe he'd have a civilised argument with them.

you can see why he gets pissed off with it after all the years of effort hes put into hardcore

as i said
hixxy is the bollox

: )

LMAO @ all of you!

I think strychnine is the only person on here thinking properly! Personally slating Hixxy is out of order I agree. But so is Hixxy personally slating other people! Andy Havoc would have something to say about it.

And before you all get carried away, yes Hixxy has done a lot for the scene and I think him for that. I love most of his music. But I'd like to bring to attention DJ Sy, DJ Scott Brown, MC Sharkey and DJ Dougal. 4 people who have also done so much for the scene but often get forgotten about.

Hixxy didn't make Hardcore.

Hey number2301, nobody is forgetting what the likes of Sy, Scott Brown, Dougal & Sharkey have done for the scene. We all accept that they have added to making the scene a better place for all of us. The point we are all making is that Hixxy doesnt deserve the slating he is recieving from arseholes who cant think of anything better to do but critisise!

Yeah, Hixxy has done wonders for the scene and in my view he has kept the scene alive. Yes, Sy, Scott Brown, Dougal & Sharkey have also helped too and they are all derserving great praise too. But think about it, Hixxy created the best record label in the world! Raver Baby helped move the scene forward. That and alot of Scott Brown's work on Evolution but you have to see this! If you cant its very narrow minded of you and all you need to do is think about it logically. Hixxy is the best. End of!

Virtigo, you're trying to pass off opinion as fact. Not everyone agrees that Raver Baby is the greatest hardcore label, or that it helped move the scene "forward", or that Hixxy is the best - what makes your opinion more valid than anyone else's?

Hey im not here to start an argument so dont start one and blame me ok!

Ur just missing the point im trying to make. Raver Baby helped move the scene forward. Why cant you see that!? IN MY OPINION, Raver Baby is the best label and Hixxy is the best DJ. Im very aware that there are people who don't think RB is the best label and that Hixxy isn't the best DJ. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. This is just my opinion and that is that Raver Baby is the best album and Hixxy is the best DJ!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion so why dont you tell everyone what you think on the matter and stop trying to critisise my own opinion in which you have no right!!

Virtigo, please specify exactly where it is in my previous post that I criticised your opinion, because I'm pretty sure I didn't. Are you sure you're not the one trying to start an argument?

Oh, and I've already said my piece about the issue. I'm just hanging around on the thread to pounce on anyone who declares their own opinion to be fact.

"Raver Baby helped move the scene forward." <== subjective assessment. True, RB did move the scene in a certain direction, but some would disagree that it was necessarily "forward".

BTW ... "all you need to do is think about it logically. Hixxy is the best." Is this how you phrase all your opinions?
