I am from Southampton but I have never heard anyone call themselves a Sotonian so maybe nip that in the bud :D
Anyway, if you're looking for hardcore in town then there's a small event featuring local guys happening on the 17th October at Cafe Parfait which is near the top end of town.
The facebook page for the event is at https://www.facebook.com/events/813178552037243/?ref=ts&fref=ts
It's the first one so I don't know how popular it's going to be but there it is
