thing is, advanced members used to be a privelege, people who posted good stuff of a level of consistent quality, they earned that status, now, people just post shit to get there and they look like complete and utter fools, i know i certainly don't hold people's posts of any regard that do that, pathetic really...

As for the whole "too many advanced members" thing, just keep in mind that anyone who stays on the board for any reasonable length of time will reach it eventually. The only real way to stop it would be to index the rankings cutoffs to the highest poster's count or something, and that'd just be wrong.
