does anyone elses "good in da neighbourhood" make the needle jump around?
because there are no surface marks that i can see, and its always in the same spots, and the needle oonly jumps on this particular record. i guess ill have to get a new one :(
maybe there was a batch of bad records?
Oh man, I hope I didn't brain my damage...

Some of my other vinyl had this problem, I found that spinning the vinyl backward over the area that skips seems to resolve the problem, it seems to unblock something that's stuck in the groove. Be careful though in case your needles snap!

Run water over the record (not the label) it should clean it up. I do not have this problem with this record but my A side of Flower needs the rain does this.

nah, good in da neighbour hood will skip if you havnt got enough weight set on your decks, its cut too loud, the bass is ultra fat on it, (a bit too loud) and it causes it to jump if there isnt enuff weight

nice one oli! yeah i ran water over it and everything, and spun it in reverse.... those didnt work too well....
but i have my tables on the heaviest weight lol. oh well :

usually if you got a small scratch (but big enough to make the song jump) playing the record ultra fast over it cures it,but if its the bass sending it off then it's only gonna make the problem worse.
disclaimer: try it if ya like but don't blame me if you ruin the needle or the tune or the deck or anything

i must be lucky, none of the ng/bb stuff i've been getting has this skipping problem, though i must say the end of new sensation through me for a loop with that sample... eah...

I've had no problems, cept for the wierd 'fade in' on some records.. where you hear the start of the record really quietly, the it plays normally?

yeah i got that on my copy of radio rockin. come to think of it it does it my breeze and styles rmx of turn up the music(the picture disk) as well! whats with that?

The first batch of NG23 that SSU got was sent back for this reason. I ended up getting mine mail order from NG and it hasn't skipped at all, but I have pretty stable carts
