I was 17 and a mate loaned me two tapes, one was Prodigy and the other was Stu Allen and Simon 'Baseline' Smith. From that point I gave up being an Indie Kid and born was the raver I am now, that was 11 years ago, but I ain't looking back. Nor am I wearing cords. Watch the beer boys!! It catches up on you and affects you dancing; I always wore white gloves but now I need too!!

I was always into electronic music. then one day a girlfriend of mine introduced me to her favourite music, Happy hardcore...I became instantly addicted to to it and fell in love with the genre, especially the stuff i heard by Stompy, Dune and Bang!...That first bunch of happy hardcore I heard is still some of my favourite stuff.
About a month after i went to my first rave...and the addiction has only grown since.
Btw ever sit back at the end of the year and look at home much money u've spent on vinyl in that one year alone? I was like WOW how the hell did i ever come up with all this money??? but boy do i have some sexi vinyl ;)

A friend came home from Germany with a tape (well, his brother's tape) and it was all the old songs like "I'm the **** you man" (new at the time, back in 1995). A few days later we asked his brother for another tape and he handed us Bonkers 1 with a tape called "Devotion" while saying "this is the closest you'll get to that German stuff - British artists to".

Was watching a german top40 chart and listened to Blumchen s "Herz an Herz" and Dune's "Hand in Hand"...was a rocker then, so I was shocked by the energy and listened to both, still was buying rock cd's though.....
Then all of a sudden, one day was this "Hardcore Feelings" by Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo played/ shown for 30 sec...it took that much time to make me fall in love with happy hardcore, I was blown away by the rush..and till this day can't get enough of it.

My brother got a mixtape called "Central Nervous System 2: The Brain" mixed by DJ Vagas, with tracks by Jimmy J & Cru-L-T, Paul Elstak, Charlie Lownoise & Mental Theo, Brothers In Crime, COR ... all told, 19 tracks of high-quality hardcore was one hell of an introduction to the music.

Pretty much the same for me. The choice at the time was to either take the 'poppy' route, the dark route or go happy. No contest really.
