mmmm phpNuke is good.....
Does anybody know of any other, less robust content managers for PHP??
I want to make a site much like this one, but obviously not as popular. I have a domain and hosting all I really need now it the actually site.
I don't want to make a simple (heh) bbs though, some thing more like this site hey but in php...

don't know about the content management side of things, but a good php bulletin board is phpBB. Unfortunately my web provider is a bit pants, and for some reason php doesn't work (although it says it does) so I've gone down the asp route with the new site. If you want a good asp bulletin board then check out snitz forums and webwiz

haha notepad.
When I mean less robust, I mean more flexible. Like phpNuke is mad, but it is quite intensive to load for slow machines. The delivered html package to the user/computer is very complex thus increasing loading time (might be 0.2ms for some you guys)
I'm going to use the phpBB forum, cos I know that works. I've tested it on my server 2day, plus its a linux server so no ASP.
Haha silver, phpNuke is php and mysql management over a "simple" web interface. Notepad would really only give me static pages (though I'm sure you know more)
Infact the more I think about it, I want to do a site much like this on but in php. Yeah.... Any takers?

Yeah I know that, just the idea of having the forum(s) and the news and that. I want to combine the forums, the news with galleries and downloads, but in php.

Note the use of "much like" not "I want to re-make this site in php".

Well, I meant a site (not specfically about hardcore) but rather on design, process and ideas.
I want to make a news site with a galleries, downloads and a forum in php. I certainly hope a simple request like how to make a site like this one in php didn't touch a nerve. I apologise if it did.
I just want to make a mad site in php dammit!!
