Im gona be starting up a new label aimed at giving up and coming producers the chance to getting noticed and getting their choons out there. I was wondering what everyone thought of this? THE LABEL WONT BE LAUCHED TILL MID NEXT YEAR (sept).
Any feedback and comments welcome (and piss takers).
And does anyopne mind filling out a questionnaire if i put it up?

Good luck, you'll need it......you should speak to some of the label owners on here before you go ahead, as it can be hard work, and you'll often end up out of pocket. Still that said.....GO FOR IT  .

Thanks for the feedback guys, and ye i will be speaking to some guys who own labels...any offers? advice etc? i know its gona be hard, hard work, but im comitted to doing what i wana do, and if Hardcore is gona survive there has gota be new producers coming through. They are the future of hardcore.
A questionaire will be made available early next year, it would be great if you could all fill it in.

Distributors dont just take on new labels without that new label proving that they can sell tunes, that means you have to show that the tunes on there are popular and will sell...
You can do this in a few ways:
1. Have a release schedule that already has popular talent on it that will sell on the name of the artists.
2. Get record stores to sign something that says that they will order x amount of records if it goes to vinyl (so you can show it to the distributor).
3. Run a record store (showing you can sell x ammount of units straight away), a big web site or a magazine or something.
4. Get the artists on the label to release their stuff on other labels BEFORE you start your label to make your artists established.
5. Get big DJ's to play the tunes, show to the distributor that your tunes are hot stuff!
I know your goal is not to really make money but distributors wont touch things that lose money otherwise they would not be in business.
Prepare for a nightmare... running a label aint as easy as it sounds :)

Running labels nowdays is about as enjoyable and rewarding as suckin off a goat.
