When I started going to Raves I used to go alone or with one of my best friends who was also into electronic music. The Rave scene here in Winnipeg is pretty small and I've gotten to know a lot of the people that go on a regular basis over the years. Some have become best friends others, aren't close friends but I can't always share a few good laughs with them at parties :)
As for my close friends from outside the scene most of them hate electronic music in general, nevermind happyhardcore. My girlfriend for example, well she hasn't heard a lot of proper electronic music but she doesn;t care much for it.
Although, sometime when she gets into my car and sees a tape in the deck she say, "Ooo whats that? Some of your CRAZY music?" Then she'll push it in and listen to some HHC. But sometimes she'll still start laughing when the beats go really fast...she'd probably get scared if she saw me dancing to hhc at a party...oh well at least she's developing a tolerance for the music I love

I have a folk at college who was really into that madchester scene from early 1990s with stone roses and happy monday etc, and he was also into acidhouse stuff, 80s stuff. I then let him listen to my Thunderdome CDs and my own stuff made on computer and I have now converter him and now loves happy-gabba :)

some of my friends are into hardcore ------- which is great --- but its good to have freinds into other things aswell ---- so there is always that other option..

100% of my friends like electro music in one way or another.. one of my best mates is into hardcore, but thats it, theres no hardcore scene in byron bay.. theres plenty of other breaky house trance combo's..Im representing hardcore up here.. :)

I have a 50/50 split between electronic music fans and rnb/hiphoppers. Being a bit of both myself, this doesn't really bother me. What does bother me is that a lot of the non-raver/clubbers can't seem to shake the conception that because I'm into more electronic genres than the others, I must do more drugs than them, as well.

none of my mates listen to hardcore but thats coz its not that popular in Newcastle (well compared to Makina-spanish hardcore)ALL of my mates (well nearly) have dex n luv makina but i like being different so i listen to hardcore too. they dont seem to mind it but thay prefer makina.
