Girlfriend brought this back from Poland (she's Polish, lives here in England) a few months back, had a few crazy nights with it (one of which I assumed all would be okay before getting out of bed to puke for several minutes in the bin) but I'm really confused as to why Everclear or whatever it is is so popular as "the strongest drink" at 95% when this is 96%?
For those interested, I got it like 3 months ago and it currently sits on my desk at 25% full, havn't dared drink any for a while after the puking incident ;)

youch, thats strong - i learnt my lesson about that kinda stuff when i was 15 - i think I was ill for like 3 days afterwards! epic fail! lol

Well yeah, maybe if i drank it every weekend :P But going from the fact that I don't have anybody to run to Poland every few months I think I'll be fine but you never know eh ;)

Haha it actually doesn't taste as bad as Vodka, quite nice to drink, harsh, but it's only harsh for a few seconds, unlike Vodka where you have a cringe on for the whole night...

that part and went for a quick, strong and prolonged hangover instead :D

i have isopropyl rubbing alcohol at my house with a lower alcohol content than that!!
i have seen 75% (151 proof) where i work, but never heard of this spirytus before... didn't think that absynthe was good for humans, never mind this stuff!

Methanol actually can't be purified further than 95.6%vol by means of destillation. You can produce absolute methanol with less than 1% water, but this is not suited for drinking, and not distilled.
Anything above 60% vol is illegal in Norway anyway, but lots of people cook up the strong stuff at home, especially common further north. They actually have a "drink" called Karsk, which is a mix of moonshine, coffee and a bit of sugar. Never tried it, but it must be rancid.
