i was having a conversation with some mates earlier and we were talking about what country/city etc. has the best hardcore scene, japan, the u.k, new york, australlia were the most talked about but we never got chance to finish our conversation and decide were was better! so i thought i would carry it on to here and start a topic about it, where is the best hardcore scene?

Sure isnt where I live. Hardcore is non existant in Colorado, well I guess it is in my house

Its gotta be the uk ent it. I think thats certainly the biggest hardcore scene. Allso most of the top hardcore djs and producers are from the uk

Agreed. Usually, you can bet that the place where the music originates will be where it's biggest following will be. It's a testament to the scene though, that there are Hardcore DJ's and producers all over the world and the big names have played at events in many different countries. I can't ever see a time when HH will be bigger anywhere else than it is here but as long as there are people spreading the word worldwide it will only make the scene stronger.

Hardcore is definately biggest in the UK,and that probably has a lot to do with
where it originated.Even Big stores such as Virgin Megastore and HMV are
stocking hardcore albums.Andys Records even sell tape packs!Whether thats
a good or bad thing its up to you.The scene aint bad in Cananda and US from
what I've heard and Australia looks like a good place to be at the mo.

Apparently (ask Silver) but the Japanese love there hardcore, and a lot of it is sold over there.

I wouldn't know which country would have the biggest hardcore scene as I've never been abroad! From what I gather off the internet and word of mouth it appears to be the UK.

This would all depend on which hardcore you are talking about. I know the French are very keen on hardcore, which they produce in massive amounts. As for happy hardcore, it would definatly have to be the UK and australia perhaps? (never been there, but I hear it's big) Gabber has it's place in the Netherlands.

You can't compare... UK big parties and excellent producers, Japan has small parties but big CD sales, Australia has massive parties but basically no producers, USA / Canada have medium parties and a few good producers.

i've seen 6000+ people dancing to hardcore (played by fenix) at an event here in sydney... but like silver said, we don't have much in terms of production... but hardcore is big here and definately on the up....

I would still say the UK bit that doesn't answer where the best ravers are from. Another topic anyone? I think we are all great but the Ozzies are the most up for it, even if a smelly pommy like me says so.

I like Japan's hardcore scene the best. I've never been to an event in the U.K., but the hardcore parties in Japan are way better than in Canada or the U.S.

its gotta b huddersfield in the uk! iv found loads of hardcore ppl in and around huddersfield, i also hurd (duno if its tru) That scott brown is from homefirth which is just outside huddersfield....wot a guy!

I really like the underground freeform/breakbeat/new style Toronto scene that's starting to emerge.
And I really really really like the midwest USA scene, which basically consists of drinking the cheapest beer that you can and hurting yourself.
