and it kicked ass! had the dance floor chokers till 7am when the club made me stop :(
highlights of the night would have been having a Melbourne hard trance dj come up to me and say "you just made my night" when i opened with chase (mixed really well out of this tony devit track that the dj b4 me had on)
and everyone singing along to every time i close my eyes
the breakdown of anon - eric b (god ppl danced hard to that)
and by far the best bit, playing break of dawn, just as the sun started to poke through the windows of the club =D
it was a big step from the bedroom to the club, and @ first i found the delay a little tricky...when i whacked the heady off my ear to monitor the new tracking coming in, once or twice i thought it was running a little fast (cos i was paying attention to the delay) but i sorted that out quick smart, and as far as i could tell, my mixing was pretty spot on.
but a word for other djs like me who are about to make the step for the clubs....just do it - its sooo much more rewarding having 200 people dancing hard to your set than banging it out to the bedroom wall and your pets!
Oh and the power you have behind that mixer, god it feels good, so loud :D
