I don't know if anyone else is in Arizona but, the HHC is dying pretty badly here.
Someone says that only kandy kids and FAG's listen to HHC.
I was hurt.

actually you are only allowed to listen to it while having intercourse with someone of the same sex.. hardcore cd's will not play if you are just sitting around, or having intercourse with someone of the opposite gender.
...
house has a much wider gay audience then hardcore, but its stupid to even ponder if a genre of music is only for homosexuals.

I really don't think it's just in Arizona. There is no Happy Hardcore presence, or actually, I should just say Hardcore in general at parties here in Calgary. Nobody wants to book a Dj of this style, as the majority of the scene here belongs to House and Drum & Bass. Last year it was Hard House/Hard Trance. It always changes. Whereas just a 2 hour drive up north from here in Edmonton, I hear that they have a much easier time booking Hardcore Dj's. We had our Hardcore parties 5 years ago, and the only promoter left still doing the yearly thing now, is the same one who was doing it back then. Maybe we will see Hardcore come back here, as it seems all of ya in the UK are getting a healthy dose.
As for the stereotype of people who listen to it....that's just plain stupid for people to say. Who cares? I sure don't. I'll continue to listen to it. I'm not a candy kid. I'm not gay, and why should your sexual preference be considered an insult anyways? Oh well.

As far as I can recall I have never heard of any similar accusations being levelled at the scene (and it's fans) in the UK so it's obviously an overseas thing?

Dude I've heard those same comments man, it sucks to hear em.
Here in Colorado where I live, no one likes HHC either really, it's mainly Progressive and House. I only know of 2 HHC DJ's here :( ...heck man, the whole Rave/Partie scene here in Colorado is dead :( makes me wanna cry.
But yeah, in my opinion, HHC is for that kid inside us all :)
It's pretty narrow minded for someone to say that HHC is only for homosexuals

St. Louis is FINALLY starting to pickup on the hardcore thing...We've got an ALL Happy lineup August 30th in Springfield, MO...called something like "Dance Till Ya PLUR!" Sure, Springfield's like a 4 hour drive from St. Louis, but atleast there's something going on in the state and it's not completely dead.
And...I've got a party coming up in early November and i'm in the process of booking ALL KINDSA HARDCORE!!..because I own the crew and I can do that.. heh :)
so problems are becoming minimal in Missouri..(heh I never thought those words would EVER come out of me!)
As far as the "Hardcore's only for Kandy Kids and Fags" thing...well that just makes me giggle like the pillsberry dough boy.. hehe

Many people tell me this too, but I just laugh at them. Espically when you see 5 guys in a car listening to rap, and they are telling me im gay when im making out with my girl.
They are just afraid of what they dont understand.

Yeah man, I listen to HHC all the time, and alot of people consider me a homosexual because my music is different from what they are used to, just cause it's happy doesn't mean it's "gay".
Besides, even if I was a homosexual, what difference what that make? They're humans too, just like everyone else.
I don't see what the big deal is.... bleh
