hi all
i've interested in finding out what of the new labels of late are considered the best or most innovotive because i'm just getting back into the scene but it seems a few of the long standing labels are still there,my favourite labels are kfa, elation and nu underground,is nu underground considered too be at the forefront of things or no? i'm looking for the industry standard setting, dfm and quosh are great but the backbone stays the same,of course each label has its aims and its flavours and its really great too see the great double act of sy & unknown still around, they make and produce some blistering stuff and too be honest there mix of db2 by dok & ponder is amazing..oh and the discriminate label, any thoughts on that too?
regards...pre

i assume from what you're saying, you are still into breaks along with the other stuff hah?...well breaks are back again, see what happen

next generation even old label still leads the upfront sound of the scene in my opinion(with the exception of kniteforce, always giving true hardcore feeling)

from the really new labels, not many releases to judge them

hah! what does being too obvious mean about it!!??
i wanted too source the labels really, although its nice too know what your all interested in,but which label has the most money and prestige about it!?
and is kfa as popular as it was back in the early days?,it is for me for sure but i'll always digest 'breaks' although i do order hh! its more on the catchy vocal tip more than anything though,i read somewhere that hixxy!? is commading four labels!? whats that all about, unfortunatly labels can be seen as controlling the music output, like editing a director's cut or something, all i know is that quality gets sacraficed for quantity everytime...pre
p.s. i think i'm gonna like nu underground a lot.....

Actually as far as i know hixxy has 4 labels and is getting another 2 started up. The Biggest label out there at the mo is probably Evolution. Been going for so long and now stronger than ever. Raver Baby got of to a big start in 2002 but they are starting to lost respect a bit i think. Still though all good stuff. As for KFA. I dont think they are as big as they used to be and nor is breaks but then i ont really knw what it used to be like :)

thx mr.dj
i never once bought a release offa evolution! but isn't it strictly from the north what with scott brown being assoited with those nutters charely and lownoise on compliations and stuff!!?? are breaks in or what i absolutly love that stuff and have never really changed my likes,i have a soft spot for kfa, there so damm adorable..i find that mixing the long sections of piano together with vocals plus the style of breaks of the kfa stable combines for the best sound but of course thats just my opinion..but does anyone agree, case in point, new release on indiscriminate,sparky/stars up above is what i like plus the more mature sounding breaks and basslines i suppose thats what breaks can do they can go more serious and mature.more adult sounding, where unfortunatly in the strictly hh scene ,the beats themselves can get oversaturated....
p.s. with dougal releasing on essential platnuim does he go for a more techno stomping affair?,quite different from his early days..hmmm

well, happy to see that there are still some breakbeatheads out there...never lost your hardcore hehe
i'm kfa-natic and the only reason is that i hope that hardcore will get its hard(break) back again
as for nu underground,i especially liked killerwhale(lunarmx) from blue ep,but still all these new ones haven't enough releases to rate them
check also burning bush, good stuff really..also uprising, only two releases but quite good
talking about hixxy and his numerous labels,dj storm have enough too i thing(check "newbie" destructive force)

P.S:i agree that epp isn't at all as the early days..only exception sunrize maybe, stands far away from all the other new epp stuff....6th gate my ass

My mixing style is all new upfront stuff. Very nice in my opinion. In order of most popular (by me):

Evolution
Raver Baby / Jelly Baby
Essential Platinum 2002
Quosh

Right now, I'm in love with UFO and his producing style. If you all know me well, you'd know that my former idol was Scott Brown but that was before he changed his style drastically. Although his stuff is still awesome, it doesn't have the same feeling for me.

UFO though, his newer style is just AWESOME! Has a couple tradmark synths, his percussion set, and the best piano. But what makes his songs shine, is that they are basically two melodies that really surprise you! I'm thinking mostly of GEOS - Heaven (which he produced). This style can first be heard in UFO - Breaka though.

Sy & Unknown are just really creating a innovative style! It's really bouncy but the lyrics they use are nice and full like a normal song! And signing the likes of Kambel just makes them that more cooler!

Dougal & Gammer's stuff is so nice and complex it just makes any set shine! I have every release of the Essential Platinum 2002 catalog from the beginning! I talk to Gammer alot and he's such an awesome guy and so dang trustworthy! I can TOTALLY see him getting up there with the big names if not already!

Okay.. I think I wrote enough for this topic.. Got on my rambling mood! :P

EDIT: Oh yeah! I forgot!

MasterWax has now gotten so nice! Signing the likes of Scott Brown and so many nice japanese singers! All the future releases of MasterWax I've been on my toes waiting for because they are really worth it! Let's hope this label goes on strong to be one the top in the hardcore world!

But dude! Have you heard Heaven or Dig It? They're both by GEOS but are engineered by UFO! Heaven can be found on Dougal's mix of Hardcore Heaven and Dig It can be found on Sy's mix of Hardcore Heaven 2. Those songs are my latest addictions! Just listen and you can totally tell the UFO ness! UFO is my hero! :)

EDIT: Yes they will! Watch out for MWX008! ;)
