Well technically you are not allowed to copy music and give it to anybody else, which means DJ mixes on the net, demo tapes/CDs to give to promoters etc etc unless you have a licence. However, usually a blind eye is turned towards ths sort of thing as long as no income is being generated and record company sales aren't being decreased because of it.

In fact, I think I am right in saying that technicaly it is even illegal if you walk down the street whistling a song, as this is in fact a public perfrmance, and the songwriter is due a royalty..... hmmm, just think how many windowcleaners would be in court if they started enforcing this!! Copyright is an absolute minefield!!!

That's not exactly the case around here.
Here if you say hardcore, everybody Immedeatly thinks you're talking about gabber, and gabber is very dislike by the big public because of all the negative publicity and the rightwinged extremists that sometimes can be found at our gabberparties. Therefore the name happy hardcore would not be liked. Also, the gabbers don't reall like happy and rave around here (because of what happened in the 90's around here), so they won't want to introduce it.
Basicly, no-one (except for a few of us) wants happy hardcore to be available in our country. There is simply no market for it here.

ever heard that quote bout a rose smelling as sweet? the reason i started listenin 2hardcore again was because i thought it was quality music. i supose it has taken alot of my freinds by suprise cuz we were all expecting a load of shity bollox.
my point is if i said "im off 2a hardcore rave" 2years ago i would have been laughed at, now loads of people are talkin bout hardcore, especially after bonkers 10. Peoples oppinions change! as long as hardcore remains a quality product then it is bound to do well! but how can it remain quality if some 10y/o feck is churnin out copies of the music, sellin them 4 a couple of quid without any regard for the artist or labels? most of the robbin cu*ts wont even give u a track list.

oh s*it man, what was i saying?

That ain't thez point man. I ain't sellin' nothing, or sharing something.
I just can't get any Happy HC around here, and hat ain't gonna change any time soon. People still got the wrong idea about any form of hardcore around here 'n it ain't gonna change easily.
Oppenions change, but people around here are either people hwho listen to alternative kinds of music like rock 'n shit, Rappers, or techno/trance/house-lovers. except for a few. And all those people hate hardcore or anything else that ends in ...core.
They're f*cking shallow around here.

If you payed for the records I see no need to worry about crossing the piracy line, cause that's just not what it is. It's not even a perfect copy by any means, and the intent of the download is to demonstrate the dj's skills, not smuggle mp3s to cheap bastards. The way I think is, records are f-ing expensive, so we better be able show em off a little!
