DJ Vibes. One of the best DJs in the scene.

What's he doing these days? I get the impression he didn't dig the slightly more trancey sound that hardcore's adopted since the millenium.

The Ultimate Happy Hardcore Album? Got it today.

What I mean is what does he do generally. I've not seen him get any gigs at the blatent like Slammin' Vinyl, Hardcore Heaven etc lately, and when it does it's for an old skool set, and I can't see them being overly popular since the fad died out.

But can real money be made from prudicing old skool? Don't get me wrong, I love old skool. I love it with my whole wang, but he can't possibly make a realistic living on old skool sets.

A nu-skool set you say? I'll have to try and find it.

The question shouldn't be "Can real money be made" rather "Can he get near enough to breaking even" by producing oldskool.

Most dj's don't make much from tune releases, there often lucky to break even. Most money for dj's comes when they get payed to play at events. but of course if they didn't produce there tunes then they wouldn't be offered to play out....so it's an evil little circle of events really!

Is it really possible to produce old skool? I mean, if you produce it now, wouldn't it be ... well ... new?

basically vibes has stuck with playing sets that are mainly records premillinium, and for this a lot of production companies don't/won't book him because they believe more in forward movement of the scene versus being stuck in the 90's...hence why you don't see him on many line ups...

or you can go with theory 2 of mine, the cheese police finally caught him =P

Yep totally agree!!!! DJ Vibes was the reason I got into Hardcore at the start. I was 18 n hated anything repetative beat until I heard Vibes play 'Hold me now' on a CD my mate had. It was a remix of an old chicago song called 'hard to say i'm sorry'. That was it!! Me was hooked and have been ever since!!
He seems to be mainly in the old skool arena's theese days but he always ends up playing happy harccore by the end of the set!! Even if it is pre-millenium stuff its still amazing.. n when he's in force with MC Livelee you KNOW ur gonna be entertained. OK, he's not the best MC on the circuit but he's certainly the funniest and most entertaining!!

Hardcore is the passion of the chosen....

I personally think Livelee is the best mc out there, I can't really stand mc's and the only 2 which I can actually listen to is Livelee & Evenson Allen, apart from them they usually just get right on my nerves!!!
