^^Another perspective of comercial hardcore that I dug up. You can see the strong feeling that the majority of the crowd has, still same in some ways now. Also a little look of when Stylus Pathfinder and Midway Raver when they were abit more loose then we know them as now.

-by the way, I cant be acused for topic digging, My reply is relevent to this subject and another active topic in the forum so ha!

The thing is that, most hardcore that has gone "commercial" aren't pop artists with crap remixes, so thats a relief.

There are some advantage of this "evil commercialism".

1. More CD's!!!
2. More pay for hardcore artists
3. Easier to find hardcore.

Thats all I can think of, off the top of my head.

But the disadvantages are:

1. Same stuff over and over and over again.
2. Crappy wannabe-hardcore-pop-remixes
3. A whole bunch of artists wanting to do hardcore for the money and not the vibe.

This list can go on.

The question isn't if hardcore will go commercial, or even when it will go commerical (I see this as inevitable), but that should it?

Old Skool it too wide a spectrum to say that it has all been commercialised. MOS may have decided to roll out some Old Skool Anthem cds but some might say that's not underground Old Skool. Rat Pack have also been doing Old Skool cds (Better ones too!) but I wouldn't say that they have been commercialised. No more so than your Bonkers cds have already commerciaised HHC. If ppl like MOS want to do an club night of Old Skool or knock out a few cds, then good luck to em! If they sell, great. At least the choons are kept alive, even if they are boring, over-played anthems from back in the day.

Maybe in a few years time, when the hardcore scene changes again, and you are all a bit older, you might find yuorself discussing the same thing about even newer hardcore!

I've noticed that ppl's perception of the genre Old Skool is different. It the future ppl may be calling Hixxy's creations Old Skool!

Mostly harmless...
