I heard aussie ravers were more drinkers than drug takers. I've got a couple of australian raver friends here and they looked at me really weirdly when I asked if they were rolling. They were like "What like...drugs?" They seemed to see it as a bit of a gross thing to do.

theres a few sober ravers, Only very few that I know of in Brisbane though
yeah we drink....hard haha
but not take like pills or anything.
a can of energy drink is all i need haha

I've always though MDMA and MDMA containing pills never suited raves at all to be honest. It's a bit of a waste. It's the kind of thing you want to be doing where you can actually talk to people in a social environment, that's what it's all about, but at raves you can't easily do that. Waste of an experiance imo. Also wouldn't bother trying to find pills with actual MDMA in these days, I'm pretty sure they don't exist. At least with all the MMCat and related substances around to take it's place.

depends what you get out of it really, when I'm on MDMA at raves I talk as much as I dance, sometimes more. You meet some amazing people, but then I don't have a problem with socializing or anything. MDMA is great, the feeling of unity is awesome just being at this awesome party and lights flying around, music is so much more danceable, everyone having fun, it's a feeling you can't put into words. It'd be a waste to not use it at a rave in my opinion, but then for me a rave is the most comfortable place I can be in, I do psychedelics at raves which most people tell you NOT to do but I do them because it's one of the few places I know my mindset is gonna be at ease and happy.
Yeah there are definitely real MDMA pills nowadays but they are expensive. I don't do pills really because I know that my MDMA is always safe and good and there's no point hunting down and taking a chance with pills when I have good stuff already. pills are much heavier than 0.2g of MDMA, which is a lot more than you are likely to get in even a good pill so there is going to be stuff like binding agents and so on in them, maybe not dangerous to the body but there's little point in doing them. I've done bad pills and good pills and the amount of hunting down it took to find good pills wasn't worth it really. they were as good as pure MDMA but it was just a waste of time in the end when I could have gotten something much cleaner.
In my opinion anti-social substances are wasted on raves, I did high doses of shrooms a few times at raves and it was like too introverted really. I didn't want to be at a rave or anywhere. I didn't freak out but everything was just a bit too overwhelming and I felt like I was dead and very detached from reality.

The only two things I have tried so far hav been wheat and Poppers.
Wheat fails as a party drug to me, due I only relax extreamly. I must have looked like a fool at my A-Level-party. All the persons around me cheered up and talkative, and on the other side of the table me, saying nothing at all for 2h.
It was usable after my car drive back from Croatia 2009, when I was awake for nearly 2 1/2 days. I just remember I had to leave my sisters wedding party 30 min after smoking. My mind already kind of shut down and went to sleep, while my body forced me to go to bed.
I remember poppers being quite funny.

poppers as in amyl nitrate? those always gave me a headache, I never got much out of them, a better headrush is to do Nitrous Oxide AKA NOS AKA laughing gas. You can buy a cheap dispenser on Ebay plus boxes of cartridges (They're called nangs in australia I think). They're good fun for a short headrush full of laughs =)

and yeah drinking is annoying like that, the fast route to getting drunk with spirits, doesn't take much but gets you plastered and tastes like its poisoning you but the other way with beer and stuff is just so much fluid in you that dancing makes you feel like a hotwater bottle
warnman I think you need to take MDMA or LSD, go to another psytrance event and trip balls haha you will love it

Contrariwise you should have a look at me at a rave being sober (exception for alcohol) first, before saying sth. like this. 
This Saturday I did a favour for a pal and went to a House/Electro party with him (I normally dislike this music), but it ended out to be an afternoon and evening, where both of us will be kept in memories of a lot of people. I doubt, I am a very good dancer, but people actually asked me, if I'm doing fine, because they thought I must be on drugs. One person even connected my dancing style to "Melbourne Shuffle". I feel honoured, but I seriously doubt I am that good, how other people occure at the internet presenting these special moves.
I only did my personal style of shuffling and installed my unscrupulous dancing style, I have developed since January, simply by raving to Hardcore music.
